Great News! GELPAG to Participate in All ENERGY Convention in Melbourne

On October 23,2024, GELPAG will be participating in the ALL ENERGY Convention in Melbourne, showcasing its groundbreaking new product, the 40.5kV 40kA 2500A Solid Dielectric Switchgear, a game-changer in the industry that requires no SF6 or gas. This product not only retains the six major advantages of the existing SIS but also expands its rated voltage to 40.5kV, making it fully environmentally friendly switchgear to be used in more complex and challenging applications. These include power plants, substations, industrial and mining enterprises, areas with frequent operations, and power systems in special environmental conditions such as high altitude, high salinity, high humidity, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

MV Switchgear awarded GELPAG SIS switchgear contract for DRC mine’s underground substations

South African electrical equipment manufacturer MV Switchgear has been awarded a contract to supply 149 units of its GELPAG Solid Insulated Switchgear (SIS) for underground substations at the copper mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The units, scheduled for delivery in August 2023, address the mine’s harsh underground conditions, including high humidity and dust, which necessitated upgrading to more robust switchgear solutions.

GELPAG MSS Switchgear Passed 4000A Prototype Test

GELPAG Advanced Technology GmbH  independently developed MSS (Intelligent Solid Isolated Switchgear) that has recently passed the 4000A prototype test. The MSS switchgear’s parameters are showed as below: rated voltage of 12 KV, rated current of 4000A and rated short-circuit breaking current of 40kA.

GELPAG have successfully developed a 27kV/38kV outdoor Recloser solution for the partner in Spain, with the breaking current at 16kA and operates at O-0.1s-CO-1s-CO-1s-CO.

GELPAG Products Obtained Certificate of Mine

KA certification refers to the safety mark of metallic and non-metallic mine products. It is a compulsory certification carried out by the National Coal Mine Safety Marking Office for non-underground coal mine supplies. All products in the mine safety certification list must obtain the certification certificate. After obtaining KA certification, MSS intelligent fully insulated switchgear can be applied to underground central substation, bottom, total intakes and main intakes, no explosion danger of metal and nonmetal mines. Products able to give all sorts of equipment for mines and underground power supply, also can be used in the power supply of railway tunnel (iron ore, copper, gold, aluminum and other metal and non-metallic mineral places).

GELPAG Products Across Oceans to Help Municipal Power Supply Safety in South Africa

South Africa, as the economic and financial center of Africa as a whole, the industry is developing rapidly. At present, a large number of substations are still using British floor switches. In order to ensure power supply safety, technological transformation is needed, including South Africa's national grid. It is estimated that there will be a potential market for thousands of medium voltage switchgear cabinets a year.

As of March 2019 GELPAG Advanced Technology GmbH have formalised an exclusive co-operation agreement with POWINS Pty Ltd as the exclusive switchgear agent and service provider for all GELPAG switchgear.  GELPAG Advanced Technology GmbH further advise that POWINS Pty Ltd, is the sole owner of the subsidiary GELPAG ELECTRICS Pty Ltd in Australia and is the only authorised OEM service and switchgear provider for GELPAG air-insulated, metalclad switchgear, commonly known as GELPAG GSGP-40.
