The GELPAG GSGP-40 series of switchgear is an air insulated, metal-clad, factory-assembled and type tested medium voltage switchgear for indoor installations. The GELPAG switchgear is typically bottom entry for power cables and is of a front and rear access design that allows for ease of cable installation and efficient space utilization within the switchroom. Top entry power cable design options has also been developed where ceiling run power cables are required by the installation. The GELPAG GSGP-40 Switchgear design and type testing allows conformity when installed against a wall in an installation due to site space or access restrictions. Another safety by design initiative.
The GELPAG GSGP-40 switchgear is designed for maximum safety, with all operations performed behind closed doors and status is visible via CCTV cameras imbedded in the switchgear to view both the earth switch and the withdrawable device. These cameras can be either local or IP addressable to assist remote operation procedures. We also can provide indoor and outdoor remote operator panels that encompass all required status and operational features. Another safety by design initiative.
The door to the circuit breaker compartment is interlocked such that the door cannot be opened unless the circuit device is withdrawn to the isolated position, behind the closed door. The circuit breaker or contactor status of open/closed/ racked in /racked out can be inspected through the viewing window on the circuit compartment door. All withdrawable circuit breakers and contactors are optioned with remote motor racking and the earth switch has option for motorization. As such, the advanced GELPAG switchgear is capable or full remote operation, “Safety by design” is our ongoing technology design focus.
The GELPAG GSGP-40 switchgear features partitioning between the busbars, the circuit breaker, the low voltage compartment and the cable compartment. The low voltage control compartment is designed vertically flexible in dimension to allow space for the most complex relay protection schemes to be housed.
The functional units of the switchgear are guaranteed arc proof in accordance with the AS and IEC Standards and the switchgear incorporates an arc duct that extends along the top of the board to direct and exhaust any by product from the switchroom or operator safe zone.
The switchgear is designed in accordance with the Australian and IEC Switchgear Standards and is fully type tested and compliant with:
- Air Insulated Metalclad Switchgear - AS 62271.200:2005 and IEC 62271.200, Ed1.0 (2003).
- Vacuum Circuit breakers are fully type tested and compliant with AS 62271.100:2005 and IEC 62271-100, Ed 1.2 (2006).
- This is in addition to AS and IEC standards the switchgear also meets the requirements of DIN and VDE (German) Standards.
